 Ascension captures OFSAA AA basketball title

				  Mississauga's Ascension of Our Lord Eagles defeated St. Andrew's of Aurora 64-53 Wednesday night to win the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations boys AA basketball championship in Perth.Ascension, the second-seeded team at the 18-team tournament, trailed 30-27 at halftime but outscored St. Andrew's 23-9 in the third quarter.Theodore Thomas scored 21 points for Ascension, the team that eliminated the La Salle Black Knights 69-57 in the quarter-finals Tuesday night.At the AAA tournament in Welland, the Frontenac Falcons lost their consolation game 52-51 to St. Augustine of Markham. Carter Matheson scored 27 points for the Falcons, who were winless in three games.Saltfleet of Stoney Creek, the No. 3 seed, defeated top-seeded Windsor Catholic Central 54-50 in the championship game.
