Gaels bow to Gee-Gees, fall into fourth place
  Posted: October 15th, 2014 @ 11:29pm

Queen's Golden Gaels fell into fourth place in the East division Wednesday night when they bowed 3-0 to the division-leading Ottawa Gee-Gees in an Ontario University Athletics women's soccer game at Miklas-McCarney Field.

The loss, coupled with Toronto's 2-0 win over Trent, leaves Queen's one point behind the third-place Blues but five points ahead of fifth-place Carleton, a 6-1 winner Wednesday over the winless Royal Military College Paladins. It was the second consecutive defeat for the Gaels, who slipped to 8-4-3 going into their final game of the regular schedule Sunday afternoon against RMC.

Ottawa, 13-1 and the No. 2-ranked team in Canada, led 2-0 at halftime after a pair of goals by Pilar Khowry, the first of which came on a penalty kick.

The goals were her 11th and 12th of the season, fourth best in Ontario, and the game was her fourth multi-goal performance of the season.

The visitors outshot the home team 7-3.
