Mark Lappan scores three for KC

Posted: April 22nd, 2015 @ 11:57pm

Mark Lappan scored three goals Wednesday to lead the Kingston Blues to a 6-1 win over the Napanee Golden Hawks in a Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association senior boys soccer game at Tindall Field.

It was the second straight win of the young season for KC, which got a pair of goals from Ben Posthumus and another from a penalty kick by Dana Lew.

Napanee’s lone goal came from Ben Moffat late in the first half.

Sydenham goalkeeper David Hasler gained his second shutout of the year, 5-0 over the Marie-Rivier Dragons, and three other teams improved to 2-0: the Regiopolis Notre Dame Panthers, who defeated the Ernestown Eagles 3-1; the Holy Cross Crusaders, who beat the La Salle Black Knights 3-0, and the Frontenac Falcons, who blanked the Loyalist Lancers 3-0.

Playing on Miklas-McCarney Field on the west campus of Queen’s University, the Golden Eagles, 1-0-1, were led by two goals from Curtis Reilly. Enrique Domingo, C.J. O’Connor and Caleb Asselstine shared the other Sydenham goals.

Damon Matos scored twice at Machin Field to lead Regi past Ernestown. Paul Bouvier scored the Panthers’ other goal, while Jon Ashworth replied for the Eagles.
