Holy Cross Crusaders put an early scare into the Regiopolis Notre Dame Panthers Tuesday, but Liam Huntley took care of it.

Huntley served the Panthers out of an eight-point deficit in the first set, sparking his team to a 3-0 win over the Crusaders in a Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association senior boys volleyball match at Regi.

The defending OFSAA triple-A champions prevailed 25-17, 15-15, 25-20.

The win improved Regi’s record to 7-0. It also extended the Panthers’ season-long streak of straight-sets victories. Of note is the fact the Panthers have already played the league’s next four ranked teams.

In other senior matches Tuesday, the Kingston Blues climbed into sole possession of second place with a 3-0 win over the Loyalist Lancers; the Sydenham Golden Eagles moved into a third-place tie with Loyalist at 5-2, downing the La Salle Black Knights 3-0; the Marie-Rivier Dragons climbed to .500 with a 3-1 win over the visiting Granite Ridge Gryphons, and the Napanee Golden Hawks gained their second win of the year, 3-1 over the Queen Elizabeth Raiders.

The Bayridge Blazers won be default over the Frontenac Falcons, who have folded for the season.

At KC, the Blues improved to 7-1 as they defeated Loyalist 25-12, 25-22, 25-23.
