Liz Boag selected to play in OUA all-star game

Posted: April 23rd, 2013 @ 7:50pm

For the second year in a row, Liz Boag will represent the Queen's Golden Gaels in the annual Ontario University Athletics women's basketball all-star game. This year's game will be played Saturday in Sault Ste. Marie, hosted by Algoma University.

Boag, a guard from La Salle Secondary School, was a second-team conference all-star this year, her third at Queen's. A member of the league's all-rookie team in her freshman season, she averaged 13.9 points per game this year, 11th in the OUA, for the 7-13 Gaels.

The all-star game will pit the best players from the East division against the top players from the West. The East team includes three players from the Carleton Ravens, three from the Ottawa Gee-Gees and one apiece from Queen's, Ryerson and Toronto.

Algoma will be joining the OUA in the fall, after several years competing in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association.
