Holy Cross, Loyalist share first place

Alison Dodwell scored four goals Thursday afternoon to lead the Holy Cross Crusaders to a 6-0 win over the Ernestown Eagles in a Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association senior girls soccer game at Caraco Field.

Marilyn Doherty and Adrianna den Ouden scored the other goals for Holy Cross, which improved to 2-0.

In a game at Miklas-McCarney Field, the Loyalist Lancers kept pace, winning their second straight game to start the season, 2-0 over the Sydenham Golden Eagles.

Elsewhere Thursday, the Regiopolis Notre Dame Panthers defeated the Bayridge Blazers 6-1, the Kingston Blues blanked the Frontenac Falcons 3-0 and the Napanee Golden Hawks gained their first win of the year, 2-0 over the Granite Ridge Gryphons.

In a game at Machin Field, Bridget Mulholland and Emma Lefebvre scored two goals apiece to lead Regi to its season-opening victory. Kaitlyn Balfour and Jennifer Cowan shared the Panthers’ other goals. Kendal Fyke scored the lone goal for Bayridge, which fell to 0-2.
