Two more Kings inked for season

Posted: April 30th, 2013 @ 7:38pm

Kingston Kings have signed two more players for the coming Ontario Junior C Lacrosse League season, bringing the total number of players carded for the 2013 campaign to 11.

Robbie Sullivan, 19, a graduate of Holy Cross Secondary School, is studying bioscience at University of Guelph. He's beginning his third year with the Kings.

"He's very much a hard working, grind-it-out type of player," Kings coach Mike Dube said. "He's a player that we look to fit into our plan based on that hard work, grinding it out for loose balls and as a situational player."

A business student at University of Ottawa, Hall, 18, who also attended Holy Cross, made the team last year as a walk-on and had five points in eight games. He assisted on Kingston's first two goals in Saturday's exhibition win in Gloucester.

"He's a strong, left-hand shot that we think will be used as a versatile, utility-type player, both offensively and defensively," Dube said, "and, as a returning player, we're going to look to him for leadership as well."

Fresh from a split of their weekend preseason games with Gloucester, the Kings invite their friends and fans to a Celebrity Server night at Boston Pizza on Dalton Avenue Wednesday, from 5 to 8 p.m. Members of the team will be there to serve and meet customers, and the restaurant will be donating 10 per cent of its sales during that time to the club.

The Kings will begin their regular schedule Thursday, May 9, when they host the Gloucester Griffins. Game time is 8 p.m.
